To start the New Year off in a great way, Jeff Tondt released an update to SMSMap and renamed it CMMap! https://www.tondtware.com/default.htm

CMMap is a freeware Configuration Manager 2012 / 2007 / SMS 2003 hierarchy drawing tool. It is an all-in-one solution for creating Visio drawings of any combination of ConfigMgr 2012 / 2007 and SMS 2003 site servers.

As I stated in a previous blog post about SMSMap, a Visio diagram of your SCCM environment is very useful. Thanks to Jeff, you can now fully document your SCCM 2012 environment in Visio.

This is how it works, first launch CMMap.
CMMap-Connection Parameters
Fill in the site server details and connection account details. Ensure to select Client Count under Options, and then click on the Components tab.
CMMap-Components

On the Components tab, click on the version of CM/SMS that you want to map in order to select all of the components that are available within that version. In my case I selected CM 2012. At this point you can deselect any component that you don’t want to map.

When you are ready click the Draw Hierarchy button.

CMMap-Final Result
The final results will look similar to the screenshot above. As I mentioned in my previous blog post, I recommend that if you ever have the opportunity to meet Jeff Tondt that you say, “Thank you,” and maybe even buy him a drink!
